Fu is still with us

A sculpture of the late Freddie Fu (MD ’77, Res ’82) was unveiled at the UPMC Freddie Fu Sports Medicine Center on September 30, honoring Pitt’s longtime chair of orthopaedic surgery. Parker B. Donaldson, son of past interim chair, William Donaldson, sculpted the piece.

In addition, the University of Pittsburgh Library System recently announced it has acquired the papers of the renowned surgeon; the collection includes presentations and treatment overviews documenting advancements Fu made in orthopaedic surgery, particularly anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction.
